Peanut butter brownies

Hello everyone,

These days my wife wanted me to cook some brownies... I wasn't too enthusiastic as it is a cake I cooked and recooked countless times as it was my favorite when I was young. To be honest I now prefer the lava cakes and I surely will post the recipe some day. Anyway, she asked me for some brownies and in order to oblige without recooking the same old recipe, I decided to try a peanut butter brownies (even if you'll probably turn obese just by looking at the result) because come on, peanut butter and chocolate is a terrific combination.

But in order to do so, I knew I couldn't just pour in the peanut butter and hope for the best. So in order to make it as good as possible I also tried to variate the texture. This is why I ended up cooking peanut butter cookies before including them in the brownies. So here is the last recipe that youwant to include in a diet:

Preparation: 30 mnCooking: 40 mnTotal time: 1 h 20 mn
Difficulty: Tricky
Caloric intake: about  400 Kcal per portion (ice cream not included)
Price: Average

A cake that define by itself the gluttony sin. For every peanut / chocolate lovers that are not too worried about their weight.

Ingredients:

For 16 people

For the brownies:
200 g dark chocolate
225 g coconut oil (butter if you can)
160 g flour
130 g peanuts
3 eggs
180 g sugar

For the peanut butter biscuit:
120 g peanut butter
25 g flour
25 g sugar
1 egg

Preparation:

    Step 3
  1. Preheat your oven at 180 °C convection mode. Mix all the peanut butter biscuits ingredients in order to obtain a ball of dough. Place it in the fridge for about 30 mn.

  2. In the mean time melt the brownies coconut oil along with the chocolate, you must obtain an homogeneous sauce.

  3. Beat the eggs with the sugar, the mixture should whiten a bit and start to get bubbly. Pour in the chocolate sauce and mix until it is homogeneous.

  4. Step 4
  5. In a pan fry without any oil or butter the peanuts if they are not roasted yet. make sure to stir until they start to get color stains due to the heat. Then add them along with the flour to the chocolate mixture and mix.

  6. Take the peanut butter biscuit dough out of the fridge and put it on an oven tray. Flatten it until it gets about 1/2 cm thick and oven it for about 15 mn. The biscuit should be crumbling easily and have a soft texture. Once cooked slice your biscuit into squares of about 1 cm.

  7. Step 5
  8. In a square mold pour in half the brownie dough. Spread on top about 3/4 of the peanut butter biscuit squares before pouring the rest of the brownies dough. Use the remaining peanut biscuit squares to decorate the top.

  9. Oven the cake for at least 20 mn (if you want it very soft) and at most 30 mn. CAREFUL the brownies should not be overcooked if you want them properly done. When the cooking is finished, leave it in the oven for an extra 15 mn at least.

  10. Step 6
  11. Eat while still warm with a ball of ice cream. If the brownies are still too liquid inside, put them in a fridge until they solidify, this way you will avoid having them overcooked and can enjoy a very soft cake; however by doing to you'll renounce to eat it warm, if you absolutely want them warm, recook them.

Variations:
There are so many variations of brownies that it is next to impossible to list them all, play with the nuts, the different kinds of chocolate, add biscuits (like here), unleash your creativity.
